Reid Room

Reid Room- (upstairs) This room is fully as pleasant as J.H. Reid and his lovely wife Annie, who purchased it in 1932. Mr. Reid was the manager of the Checker Board feed store. After Mr. Reid passed on, Annie continued to reside in the home and even turned it into a boarding house. She was very beloved in the community of Palatka, and was known as a woman who was not shy about speaking her mind. She was most known, however, as being a very kind neighbor and a good friend who would never turn away someone in need. We figured she deserved the best view in the house. We named this luxurious queen sized bedroom suite and adjoining sitting room and office with 22 periof paned windows overlooking the St. Johns River after her. Large bathroom with beaded board walls and Haines, Jones & Cadbury original bottom flush toilet from the early 1900’s graces the sumptuous bathroom. All of our rooms have full access to all public rooms, porches, swings, decks, dock and of course, the lovely St. Johns River waterfront.
